Tonto Dikeh's new singing career?

Written By Chisom A. on Thursday, November 24, 2011 | 2:55 PM

As we should all know, Tonto Dikeh, was recently featured on Kas's Song, "Iyawo wind". It is said that she has signed on to his label and is currently working on a new album with him. I had to listen to the song about three times before i actually realized what part she sang. If you do not know, she sang the first verse of the song. I actually do not know if the verse was too short or i just didn't listen hard enough, but my verdict is not yet concluded as to whether she can sing or not. So you all can judge for yourself, should she just stick to her acting career or did she SANG it? The song in general was not bad, i liked the beat and the way it started, and i keep replaying the first part over and over again.  He kept saying the same thing over and over so the song is dry, but he does have a beautiful voice. I have never listened to a Kas song, and the only reason i listened to this one was to keep in touch with the gist.  Here is the song Iyawo wind, by Kas featuring Tonto Dikeh

Hearing about Tonto Dikeh singing reminded me of the time when our Nollywood actors/ actresses were banned and most of them took to singing. I have to laugh thinking of those times and i actually own c.d's of our actors song.
Like Ramsey Nouah and Segun Arinze's and some of Genevieve Nnaji. Even after the ban was lifted, some of our stars kept singing, whether they had talents for singing or not. We still have actresses like Omotola Jalade Ekeinde with albums coming out, Jim Iyke with songs on You Tube, and so much more. I am begging our nollywood stars to quit this nonsense and focus on their acting career. If they really want to sing, how about they just do a movie soundtrack, and leave the music industry to the people with actual talents for it. Also, i think our Music stars should revenge themselves by acting in Nollywood movies. Who doesn't want to see D'Banj as the sexy bad boy, or Psquare, Peter or Paul, as the rich gentleman falling head over heels.
