The Gist:
I think the casting was perfect. Chidi and Genevieve had enough chemistry, everyone in this movie could act. The movie was very cute and sweet. One of my main issues with this movie was the fact that Gene fell too fast, the transmission was like BAM! BAM! I liked the ending, but it did not exactly blow my mind.
Breaking it Down!
Actors:
Chidi Mokeme:
I like this guy, i wish he would act more. He played the good guy, the confused man, the family man, i loved it. He convinced me in any emotion he showed. I give him an 3.7 of 5 stars.
Genevieve Nnaji:
Really? do you have anything to say about her acting? I am though tired of seeing her always play the independent hard working lady with no kind of feelings. I give her a 4 of 5 stars.
Yvonne Nelson:
i always heard that, whoever surround you can bring out the best in you. I saw that in Yvonne in this movie. Acting with good and very talented actors really brought out the best in her, although sometimes she sounded a little too rehearsed. I give her a 3 of 5 stars.
Visual/Audio:
The visual and audio was allright, nothing spectacular and nothing to complain about either. Although sometimes you can see the boom mike .
I loved the soundtrack.
Costume:
Fashion...Mhhh i dont really remember what they were wearing..you focus more on the acting than you do anything else.
The Romance:
Don't you just love it, when a man comes along and proves to the stuck up woman that he loves her and that she is a woman. When the woman starts falling for him, but she does not want to. And when she is finally ready to confess her love, someone comes and almost tear them apart. Then he has to win her back by proving that his love was real from the get go?
YES, I THINK I JUST TOLD YOU ALL THE STORY
The Comedy:
There are some scenes where you foolishly grin, others you laugh at how crazy Genevieve was about her work. I would not say there was a lot of comedy in this movie, it was more of a dramatic romance.
The Drama:
Oh believe that there is drama!...lets just leave it at that.
It seems like Chidi could not keep his penis in his pants
Favorite Quotes:
1. "A little blackmail doesn't hurt anyone." - Jane's Mom
2. "Nothing happened....except we just screwed our brains out." - Chidi
3. " You know, explore our bodies." - Chidi
4. "Please, it's sex! Don't try to conjugate it to look all beautiful. It's sex." - Genevieve
5. "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck this" - Chidi
6. " you should have thought of that before you forced your manhood on me" Genevieve
Favorite Scenes:
1. There's a scene that Yvonne finds out about the death of a certain person and she bursts out crying. I exploded with laughter, i did not take her crying seriously at all. It seemed like a joke to me.
2. When Chidi put that ring on Genevieve's finger, i almost cried. Not because i thought it to be sweet but because the ring fit. You know how many Nollywood movies i have watched when the man proposes and can't seem to fit the ring down the lady's finger. Ughhh!
Would I recommend it?
Yes i would. Its a good watch but it was a little rushed to me. I am certain you will enjoy it, how much you will enjoy it..that i do not know.
My plan was to read this find out if I wanted to watch it or not... then I read the romance part and I was like, "this idiot is telling me the story of the movie" and BAM! You were like "Yeah.... So I pretty much just told you the story... SUE ME!" Bohot Achai (Well Done) laughing my behind off....
